- Masai Mara National Reserve

This short safari goes to the animal wonderland of the Masai Mara National Reserve in south western Kenya, which is trampled by thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle in the spectacular annual migration, and is home to the 'big five'; lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The reserve is shared with the proud and elegant looking Masai; the semi nomadic people whose culture and ways have changed little over the centuries. Days are spent on rewarding game drives, whilst nights are spent around the campfire at our tented camp

DAY 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara (D)

Leaving the hustle and bustle of Nairobi we climb the escarpment to our first stop, a viewpoint overlooking the spectacular Great Rift Valley. Descending into the Rift Valley, we enter Masai land where these habitual pastoralists are often seen tending their cattle from the side of the road. We pass through the town of Narok, before arriving at our campsite, Acacia Camp (a stone’s throw away from the reserve gate) in time to enjoy sunset over the Masai Mara.

DAY 2: Masai Mara (B / L / D)

We spend the day driving through nature as it was intended to be - huge plains, rolling hills and an abundance of game matched no where else on earth. We keep an eye open for the Big 5 - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion & leopard. If travelling between July and October, we may get to witness the impressive herds of over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s Gazelles in their Annual Migration.

Sitting around the camp fire, watching the sun set is the perfect way to finish a day’s game viewing in this

“Garden of Eden.”

DAY 3: Masai Mara to Nairobi (B)

Leaving the Masai Mara, we head out into the surrounding area where we still catch a glimpse of the game that has migrated into the Masai land region. Departing in the morning, we reach Nairobi in the late afternoon. Here we’ll part ways after having had a brief encounter with amazing Africa.
